Method

Schnitzel

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork Cutlets

Pound the pork cutlets to about 1/2 inch thickness using a meat mallet.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour mixed with salt and black pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Cutlets

Dredge each pork cutlet first in flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  4. 4

    Pan-Fry the Schnitzel

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded cutlets for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into equal-sized chunks.

  2. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Place potatoes in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes or until tender.

  3. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Stout Mushroom Gravy

  1. 8

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a saucepan, heat a bit of olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened.

  2. 9

    Cook the Mushrooms

Add sliced mushrooms to the pan and cook until they release their moisture and are browned.

  3. 10

    Add Liquids

Pour in the stout beer and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.

  4. 11

    Thicken the Gravy

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth. Add to the gravy and stir until thickened. Season with salt and black pepper.

Broccoli

  1. 12

    Prepare the Broccoli

Wash and cut broccoli into florets.

  2. 13

    Sauté the Broccoli

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add broccoli, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still bright green.
