Method

Fish Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Haddock

Pat the haddock fillets dry with paper towels. Rub each fillet with olive oil and then generously coat with Cajun seasoning on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Haddock

Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned haddock fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until the fish is blackened and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).

Tartar Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, sweet pickle relish, Cajun seasoning, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine.

  2. 4

    Season

Add salt and pepper to the tartar sauce to taste, mixing thoroughly.

Salad Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Lettuce

Wash the iceberg lettuce head thoroughly under cold water. Pat dry and chop or tear into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 6

    Prepare Tomatoes

Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems, and slice them into wedges or rounds.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Plate the Salad

On a serving plate, arrange the lettuce and tomatoes. Place the cooked blackened haddock fillets on top.

  2. 8

    Serve with Tartar Sauce

Serve the dish with the Cajun tartar sauce on the side for dipping.
