Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, combine the Black Angus ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to incorporate the seasonings without overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the seasoned ground beef into a round patty that is slightly larger than the burger bun, making a 1/2 lb patty.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

Cook the Burger

  1. 4

    Grill the Patty

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the burger patty over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place the American cheese slice on top of the patty to melt.

Prepare the Barney Sauce

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until fully combined.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of the burger bun, spread a generous amount of Barney sauce. Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top, followed by the crispy bacon. If desired, add lettuce and tomato before placing the top half of the bun on.
