Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.
- 2
Cook Spaghetti
Add 8 cups of spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically around 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 3
Drain and Set Aside
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.
Preparing Meat Sauce

Sauté Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 chopped onion and 3 minced garlic cloves. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- 5
Cook Ground Beef
Add 500 grams of ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 7-10 minutes.
- 6
Add Tomatoes and Spices
Stir in 400 grams of canned tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer Sauce
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Preparing Salad
- 8
Combine Ingredients
In a large salad bowl, combine 4 cups of mixed greens, 1 cup of halved cherry tomatoes, and 1 sliced cucumber.
- 9
Dress Salad
In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle over the salad and toss to combine.
