Method

Prepare the Chili

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef and Vegetables

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

  2. 2

    Add Spices and Sauce

Stir in chili powder, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine. Pour in the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Lower the heat and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 3

    Prepare the Salad Base

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lettuce mix, cherry tomatoes (halved), chopped green onions, black olives, and cheddar cheese. Toss gently to combine.

  2. 4

    Top with Chili

Once the chili is cooked, spoon a generous amount over the salad mixture.

Prepare Accompaniments

  1. 5

    Serve with Sides

On the side, arrange sliced jalapeños, sour cream, salsa, and fresh tortilla chips for dipping. Serve immediately.
