Method
Preparation of Cheese Sticks
- 1
Prepare the Breading Station
Set up three shallow dishes. In the first dish, add the flour. In the second dish, whisk together the eggs and milk. In the third dish, combine the bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 2
Bread the Cheese Sticks
Dip each mozzarella cheese stick in the flour, coating it evenly. Shake off any excess. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the seasoned bread crumbs until fully coated. Repeat with all cheese sticks.
- 3
Chill the Cheese Sticks
Place the breaded cheese sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes to help them hold their shape during frying.
Frying the Cheese Sticks
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can check the temperature using a deep-fry thermometer.
