Steak Preparation

Prepare the Steak
Season the cube steaks with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.

Bread the Steak
In a shallow dish, combine 1 cup of flour with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Dredge each steak in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour mixture to coat.
Cooking the Steak

Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat 1 cup of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

Make the Gravy
In the same skillet used for the steaks, add 1 cup of flour to the remaining oil and whisk to combine, cooking for about 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.

Add Milk
Slowly whisk in 2 cups of milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Continue cooking until the gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

Season the Gravy
Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste. Stir well.
