Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool. You can add 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur to the espresso if you prefer a richer flavor.
- 2
Whip the Egg Yolks
In a large mixing bowl, separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. Add 100g of granulated sugar to the egg yolks and whisk together until the mixture is thick and pale in color.
- 3
Add Mascarpone and Vanilla
Gently fold in 500g of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the whipped egg yolk mixture until smooth and well combined.
- 4
- 5
Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso mixture for just a few seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 6
Layer the Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 7
Repeat the Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone mixture, then spread the remaining mascarpone mixture over the second layer.
- 8
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 9
Serve and Dust with Cocoa
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder using a fine sieve for an elegant finish.
