Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through.

Sauté the Aromatics
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Add the Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

In a baking dish, layer the meatballs and sauce, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
