Chicken Cutlet

Sub Assembly

Method

Chicken Cutlet Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Start by placing the chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap. Pound it to an even thickness using a meat mallet.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

Set up three bowls: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, one with the beaten egg, and one with breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Dredge the chicken breast first in the flour mixture, then dip it into the egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.

  4. 4

    Cook the Chicken

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken cutlet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat and let it rest.

Sub Assembly

  1. 5

    Prep the Vegetables

While the chicken is resting, wash and shred the lettuce. Slice the tomato into thin rounds.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Sub

Slice the hoagie rolls in half. Start layering by placing the cooked chicken cutlet first, followed by the pepper ham, capicola, and provolone cheese.

  3. 7

    Add Vegetables and Season

Top with shredded lettuce and tomato slices. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle oregano over the top according to taste.

  4. 8

    Serve Your Sub

Close the hoagie rolls and serve immediately while warm. Enjoy your Chicken Italiano Sub!
