Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Begin by cutting the chicken breast into thin strips. Season the chicken strips with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken strips and cook until they are golden brown and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

  3. 5

    Combine and Melt Cheese

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir to combine everything well. Top the mixture with cheese slices and cover the skillet with a lid. Allow the cheese to melt for about 2-3 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Cheesesteak

Slice the hoagie rolls open and fill each roll with the chicken and vegetable mixture. Serve hot.
