Preparing the Balsamic Reduction

Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey.

Simmer
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

Reduce
Allow the mixture to simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and reduces by half.

Cool
Remove from heat and let it cool down to room temperature.
Assembling the Salad

Slice the Mozzarella and Tomatoes
While the balsamic reduction is cooling, slice the fresh mozzarella and ripe tomatoes into even slices.

Layer Ingredients
On a serving platter, alternate layers of sliced mozzarella and tomatoes, creating a circular or linear pattern.

Add Basil
Tuck fresh basil leaves in between the layers of mozzarella and tomatoes.

Season the Salad
Drizzle the olive oil over the salad, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.

Finally, drizzle the cooled balsamic reduction over the entire salad before serving.
