Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Dough
Preheat your wood-fired oven to about 800°F (427°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- 2
Add Toppings
Place the rolled out dough onto a pizza peel. Evenly distribute the sliced tomatoes over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 3
Add Cheese
Tear the fresh mozzarella into smaller pieces and scatter them over the tomatoes.
- 4
Season
Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the toppings to taste. Add fresh basil leaves on top.
- 5
Drizzle with Olive Oil
Drizzle the olive oil over the pizza for added flavor.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Carefully slide the pizza into the preheated wood-fired oven. Bake for about 90 seconds to 2 minutes, or until the crust is golden and bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, slice, and serve hot with extra basil if desired.
