Cake Ingredients

Method

Cake Directions

  1. 1

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix in Sugar and Eggs

Stir in the granulated sugar until combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.

  3. 3

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the center is set. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Whipped Cream Directions

  1. 4

    Prepare Whipped Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Raspberry Coulis Directions

  1. 5

    Make Raspberry Coulis

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the fresh raspberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the raspberries break down and the mixture thickens. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds. Cool before serving.
