Method
Prepare the Fried Pickles

Set Up the Breading Station
In one bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk until smooth.

Coat the Pickles
Dip each dill pickle chip into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally back into the flour mixture, making sure they are well-coated.

Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Pickles
Carefully drop the coated pickle chips into the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Jalapeños
Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds for less heat, or leave them if you prefer spicier jalapeños.

Heat the Oil
If the oil is not already hot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a large pot or deep fryer.

Fry the Jalapeños
Carefully place the coated jalapeño halves into the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Plate and Serve
Arrange the fried pickles and jalapeños on a serving platter and serve hot with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
