Jumbo Chicken Tenders

Side Dishes

Method

Prepare the Chicken

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Whisk together until smooth. Add the chicken breast fillets and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Stir until well combined.

Fry the Chicken

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Bread the Chicken

Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess.

  3. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the breaded chicken tenders into the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  4. 6

    Drain and Rest

Once cooked, transfer the tenders to a wire rack or plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Let them rest for a few minutes.

Prepare the Sauces

  1. 7

    Choose Your Sauce

Depending on your flavor choice (Nashville, Buffalo, or Korean), mix the chosen sauce with the cooked chicken tenders. For Nashville, toss with hot sauce; for Buffalo, toss with buffalo sauce; for Korean, toss with BBQ sauce.

Serve

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Serve the chicken tenders with your choice of dipping sauce (ranch, blue cheese, or comeback) and a side of French fries or coleslaw.
