Dough

For frying (optional)

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add hot water while mixing until a rough dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

Finely chop the napa cabbage, zucchini, and mushrooms. In a bowl, combine these vegetables.

  2. 4

    Season the Filling

Add minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to the chopped vegetables. Mix well to combine and set aside.

Assembling the Potstickers

  1. 5

    Roll the Dough

Divide the rested dough into small pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle (about 3 inches in diameter).

  2. 6

    Fill the Potstickers

Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

Cooking the Potstickers

  1. 7

    Steam the Potstickers

Place the potstickers in a steamer over boiling water and steam for about 10-12 minutes until the dough is cooked through.

  2. 8

    Wok Frying (Optional)

If you prefer fried potstickers, heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the potstickers and fry until the bottoms are golden brown, then add a splash of water, cover, and steam for 5-7 minutes.
