Method
Making the Dumpling Dough
- 1
Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 0.5 tsp of salt. Gradually add 3 ml of water while mixing until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Preparing the Filling
- 3
Mix Filling Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of ground pork, 1 cup of finely chopped Napa cabbage, 1 tsp of grated ginger, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tbs of soy sauce, 1 tsp of sesame oil, 0.5 tsp of black pepper, and 2 tbs of chopped green onions. Mix well until fully combined.
Assembling the Dumplings
- 4
Roll the Dough
After the dough has rested, divide it into small equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle (about 3 inches in diameter).
- 5
Fill the Dumplings
Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
Cooking the Dumplings
- 6
Boil the Dumplings
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Boil for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.
- 7
Serve
Using a slotted spoon, remove the dumplings from the water and drain. Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
