Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and set aside.

  2. 2

    Chop Vegetables

Dice the bell peppers and onion into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, chicken broth, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Stir-Fry Chicken

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a little oil and stir-fry the diced chicken until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 5

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add the diced bell peppers and onion, cooking until they are tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 6

    Combine Everything

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the fermented black beans and the sauce mixture. Stir well to combine and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the chicken and vegetables.

  4. 7

    Serve

Once everything is well combined and heated through, remove from heat. Serve warm over rice or noodles if desired.
