Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all ingredients and chop the kimchi and green onions. Ensure the cooked rice is cold, as this helps prevent it from becoming mushy.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks, until browned. Season with salt and pepper. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 3

    Fry the Kimchi

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the chopped kimchi and cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through and slightly caramelized.

  3. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the kimchi. Stir well to combine and break up any clumps of rice. Add the cooked beef back to the skillet.

  4. 5

    Season the Rice

Pour the soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice mixture. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined and heated through. Finally, stir in the sliced green onions.

  5. 6

    Fry the Eggs

In a separate pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and cook until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny, about 3 minutes.

  6. 7

    Serve

Divide the kimchi fried rice into bowls and top each serving with a sunny-side up egg. Enjoy!
