Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Base

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until it becomes translucent.

  2. 2

    Add Garlic

Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Cook Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the pot and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes. Remove shrimp and set aside.

  4. 4

    Make the Bisque

In the same pot, add the tomato paste, cayenne pepper, chicken broth, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and bring to a simmer.

  5. 5

    Blend the Soup

Use an immersion blender to blend the soup until smooth. If you don’t have an immersion blender, carefully transfer the soup to a blender and blend in batches.

  6. 6

    Add Cream

Return the blended soup to the pot. Stir in the heavy cream and heat through, but do not boil.

  7. 7

    Finish with Shrimp

Add the cooked shrimp back into the bisque and let it heat for an additional 2 minutes.

  8. 8

    Serve

Ladle the bisque into bowls and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
