Tortilla Chips

Signature Salsa

Method

Tortilla Chips Preparation

  1. 1

    Cut the Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into triangles (like pizza slices) to create chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Immediately sprinkle with salt while they are still hot.

Signature Salsa Preparation

  1. 5

    Chop the Ingredients

Dice the ripe tomatoes, finely chop the red onion, and remove the seeds and finely chop the jalapeño pepper. Roughly chop the fresh cilantro.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Lime and Season

Squeeze the juice of one lime over the salsa mixture, add salt, and stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 8

    Chill and Serve

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld before serving with the tortilla chips.
