Tuna Salad

Method

Tuna Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Poach the Tuna

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over low heat. Add the canned tuna (drained) and poach gently for about 10-15 minutes until warmed through. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Make the Salad

In a mixing bowl, combine the poached tuna, mayonnaise, lemon juice, celery, red onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Assembly and Cooking

  1. 3

    Assemble the Melt

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). On a baking sheet, place slices of sourdough bread and spread a generous amount of the tuna salad on each slice. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

  2. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven.

  3. 5

    Serve

Serve the tuna salad melts topped with fresh mixed farm greens.
