Smoked Salmon Ingredients

Method

Smoked Salmon Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brine

In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar, sea salt, black pepper, and dill. Make sure the sugar and salt are well combined.

  2. 2

    Brine the Salmon

Place the salmon fillet in a shallow dish and cover it completely with the brine mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.

  3. 3

    Rinse and Dry

Once brining is complete, remove the salmon from the brine and rinse it under cold water to remove excess salt and sugar. Pat dry with paper towels.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 180°F (82°C) and soak the wood chips in water for about 30 minutes before using.

  5. 5

    Smoke the Salmon

Place the soaked wood chips in the smoker and add the salmon fillet. Smoke for about 1 to 2 hours, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and has a nice smoky flavor.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once smoked, remove the salmon from the smoker and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with lemon before serving.
