Marinate the Tuna
In a shallow dish, combine the olive oil and fresh lime juice. Place the Ahi tuna steaks in the dish and coat them thoroughly with the marinade. Cover and let the tuna marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Prepare the Blackening Seasoning
In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper until well combined. This will be your blackening seasoning.
Cooking the Tuna

Blacken the Tuna
Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot. Remove the tuna from the marinade and shake off any excess liquid. Generously coat both sides of each tuna steak with the blackening seasoning.
