Method

Escargot Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) to ensure it’s hot enough to cook the escargot properly.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic (4 cloves), chopped fresh parsley (2 tablespoons), Pernod (2 tablespoons), salt (1 teaspoon), and black pepper (1 teaspoon). Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Fill the Escargot Shells

Using a small spoon or a piping bag, fill each escargot shell with the garlic butter mixture, ensuring they are generously filled.

  4. 4

    Arrange and Bake

Place the filled escargot shells in an escargot dish (or a muffin tin if you don’t have one). Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the butter is bubbling and the tops are slightly golden.

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bread

While the escargot is baking, slice a French bread or baguette into thick slices. These will be used to soak up the delicious garlic butter.

  2. 6

    Serve Hot

Once the escargot is done, remove them from the oven and serve immediately with the slices of bread on the side for dipping into the garlic butter.
