Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Patties
In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide into two equal portions and form into two 5 oz. patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

- 3
Cook the Patties
In the same skillet, cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on one patty and a slice of Swiss cheese on the other to melt.
- 4
Toast the Bread
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the slices of country white bread in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
- 5
Assemble the Burger
Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted bread. Layer lettuce, tomato slice, one cheese-topped patty, two bacon strips, the other cheese-topped patty, and finish with another slice of toasted bread.
- 6
Serve
Cut the sandwich in half and serve with your favorite side.
