Shrimp Po'Boy Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine buttermilk and shrimp, allowing them to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Shrimp

Remove shrimp from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge shrimp in the flour mixture until well coated.

  4. 4

    Fry the Shrimp

In a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry shrimp in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Make Sam's Sauce

In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and hot sauce together. Adjust spice level to taste.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Po’Boy

Slice French bread lengthwise and spread Sam's sauce on both sides. Layer with fried shrimp, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Close the sandwich and serve.
