Preparation

  1. 1

    Grate the Cucumber

Using a box grater, grate the cucumber into a bowl. If desired, peel the cucumber first for a smoother texture.

  2. 2

    Remove Excess Water

Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the grated cucumber and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then, using a clean kitchen towel, squeeze out excess moisture from the cucumber.

  3. 3

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and mince the garlic cloves finely and set aside.

  4. 4

    Chop the Herbs

Finely chop the fresh dill and mint leaves and set aside.

Mixing

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the drained cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, chopped mint, and Greek yogurt.

  2. 6

    Add Seasonings

Stir in the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Chill

  1. 7

    Refrigerate

Cover the tzatziki with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
