Cheese Preparation

Method

Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Mozzarella

Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks, about 1/2 inch thick and 3 inches long. Place them on a plate and set aside.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading Stations

Set up three shallow dishes: one with all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Bread the Mozzarella

Take each mozzarella stick and coat it in flour, shaking off the excess. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture to fully coat. Repeat for all mozzarella sticks.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can check the temperature with a thermometer or by dropping a small piece of bread into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.

  2. 5

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully place a few mozzarella sticks into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking.

  3. 6

    Drain and Serve

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried mozzarella sticks from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
