Method

Prepare the Lobster

  1. 1

    Thaw the Lobster

If your lobster tails are frozen, place them in the refrigerator overnight to thaw. If you're short on time, you can also run them under cold water for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cut the Shell

Using kitchen scissors, cut down the middle of the lobster shell from the top to the tail, being careful not to cut the meat. Gently pull the shell apart to expose the meat.

  3. 3

    Remove the Lobster Meat

Gently lift the lobster meat out of the shell, keeping it attached at the tail end. Lay the lobster meat on top of the shell.

Cook the Filet Mignon

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Allow it to reach a temperature of around 400°F (200°C).

  2. 5

    Season the Filet

Season the filet mignon with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 6

    Cook the Filet

Place the filet on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  4. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the filet from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Cook the Lobster

  1. 8

    Prepare the Butter Sauce

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to taste.

  2. 9

    Broil the Lobster

Preheat your oven's broiler. Place the prepared lobster tails on a baking sheet and brush with the garlic butter sauce. Broil for 6-8 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and slightly browned.

Serve

  1. 10

    Plating

On a large serving plate, place the filet mignon alongside the lobster tail. Drizzle additional drawn butter over the lobster and filet if desired.

  2. 11

    Garnish

Sprinkle fresh parsley on top and add lemon wedges on the side for an extra touch.
