Skillet Bread

Orange Blossom Honey Butter

Method

Skillet Bread

  1. 1

    Prepare the Skillet

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place a cast-iron skillet in the oven to heat up.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until evenly mixed.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, melt the butter and then let it cool slightly. Whisk in the milk and the egg until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine All Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.

  5. 5

    Bake the Bread

Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven and add a little butter to coat the bottom. Pour the batter into the skillet and spread it evenly. Return the skillet to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the skillet from the oven and let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Orange Blossom Honey Butter

  1. 7

    Prepare the Butter

In a mixing bowl, soften the butter to room temperature. Use a hand mixer or a fork to beat it until creamy.

  2. 8

    Mix in Honey and Cinnamon

Add the orange blossom honey and cinnamon to the softened butter. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  3. 9

    Serve

Transfer the honey butter to a serving dish and serve alongside the warm skillet bread.
