Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of salted boiling water, add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 2

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil together. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.

  2. 3

    Cook Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 4

    Add Wine and Lemon Juice

Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, then bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

  4. 5

    Combine with Pasta

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine. If the mixture seems dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.

  5. 6

    Finish with Parsley

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Serve the shrimp scampi immediately, garnished with lemon wedges on the side.
