Pasta and Sauce
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the noodles.
- 2
Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.
- 3
Add Cream and Cheese
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Continue to stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy, about 3-5 minutes.
- 4
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine noodles to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the noodles thoroughly. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
- 5
Serve
Remove from heat, garnish with fresh chopped parsley, and serve immediately. Enjoy your homemade fettuccine Alfredo!
