Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye

Take the bone-in ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes prior to cooking. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season the ribeye on both sides with kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped fresh rosemary. Allow the seasoning to adhere for about 15 minutes.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to high heat or use a cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat. Add olive oil to the skillet if using.

  2. 4

    Sear the Ribeye

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the grill or skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it for a perfect crust.

  3. 5

    Flip and Continue Cooking

After 4-5 minutes, flip the steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness. Adjust the cooking time for your desired doneness.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the ribeye from the heat and let it rest for at least 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Slice the ribeye against the grain, plate it, and serve with your choice of grilled asparagus, mashed potatoes, or garlic butter. Enjoy your meal!
