Hibiscus Tea Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make Hibiscus Tea

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the dried hibiscus flowers. Let steep for about 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sweeten the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea to remove the flowers and return the liquid to the pot. Stir in 1 cup of sugar while the tea is still warm until dissolved.

  3. 3

    Cool the Tea

Allow the hibiscus tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled, approximately 1 hour.

  4. 4

    Mix the HibisCola

In a large pitcher, combine the chilled hibiscus tea with 1 cup of lime juice and 2 cups of sparkling water. Stir gently to mix.

  5. 5

    Serve

Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the HibisCola over the ice. Garnish with lime slices if desired.
