Method
Prepare Bannock Bread

Mix dough
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water and mix until a soft dough forms.

Form and fry
Divide dough into 4 equal balls. Flatten each into a 1/2 inch thick disk. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry each disk until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

Stir in kidney beans, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assemble Bannock Tacos

Place a bannock round on a plate. Top with a generous spoonful of chili, followed by shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, and diced tomato. Serve immediately.
