Mix the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add vegetable broth and vegetable oil, mixing until the dough is smooth and pliable. If the dough feels too dry, add a little more broth as needed.
Assemble the Tamales

Prepare the Banana Leaves
Soften the banana leaves by briefly passing them over an open flame or steaming them. Cut the leaves into squares (approximately 10x10 inches).

Fill the Tamales
Place a square of banana leaf on a clean surface. Spread about 1/4 cup of corn dough in the center of the leaf. Add a generous spoonful of shredded pork on top of the dough. Fold the banana leaf over the filling to create a package and tie it with kitchen twine if necessary.

Once cooked, carefully unwrap the tamales and serve hot with your favorite salsa or sauce.
