Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and add the fresh rosemary sprigs. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet, cover with foil, and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Preparing the French Fries

  1. 4

    Cut the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 5

    Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry with paper towels.

  3. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 8

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.
