Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press the mint leaves against the bottom of the glass to release their essential oils and mix with the sugar.

  2. 2

    Add Lime Juice

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice from both halves into the glass. You can also drop one half of the lime into the glass for extra flavor. Stir gently to combine the mint, sugar, and lime juice.

  3. 3

    Add Rum

Pour in the white rum over the muddled mint and lime mixture. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes to the top. This will chill the cocktail and keep it refreshing.

  5. 5

    Finish with Club Soda

Top off the cocktail with club soda. Pour it slowly over the ice and stir gently to mix.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish the mojito with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately with a straw for easy sipping.
