Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub each ribeye steak with olive oil and season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, around 450°F (232°C). If using a charcoal grill, make sure to have a direct heat zone.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned steaks on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer to check; 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

  4. 4

    Add Rosemary

In the last minute of grilling, add fresh rosemary sprigs on top of the steaks for added flavor.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.

  2. 7

    Drain the Potatoes

Once cooked, drain the potatoes in a colander and allow them to steam dry for a minute.

  3. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Return the potatoes to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the mashed potatoes warm alongside the grilled ribeye steak.
