Pulled Pork Ingredients
Method
Pulled Pork Directions
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to create a spice rub.
- 2
Season the Pork
Rub the spice mix all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator for more flavor.
- 3
Cook the Pork
Preheat your slow cooker or oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker or a roasting pan.
- 4
Add Liquid Ingredients
In a separate bowl, mix apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, honey, and mustard. Pour this mixture over the pork in the slow cooker or roasting pan.
- 5
Slow Cook
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours in the slow cooker or 4-5 hours in the oven, until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
- 6
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.
- 7
Serve
Serve the pulled pork on its own or with your favorite gluten-free, dairy-free sides.
