Fries Ingredients

Method

Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips or wedges, depending on your preference. Rinse the cut potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to help achieve a crispier texture.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a handful of the dried potatoes to the hot oil. Fry in batches for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika while they are still hot.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
