Meat and Marinade
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and onion powder. Whisk together until the sugar is dissolved and all ingredients are well incorporated.
- 2
Marinate the Brisket
Place the beef brisket in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the brisket, ensuring it is fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight for maximum flavor.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) to prepare for slow cooking the brisket.
- 4
Cook the Brisket
Remove the brisket from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the brisket in a roasting pan and cover it tightly with aluminum foil. Cook in the preheated oven for about 4 hours, or until the meat is fork-tender.
- 5
Rest the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes, still covered with foil. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
- 6
Slice and Serve
After resting, slice the brisket against the grain into thin slices. Serve with your choice of side dishes and enjoy!
