Shaved Brussels
Method
Shaved Brussels
- 1
Prepare the Brussels Sprouts
Remove any outer leaves from the Brussels sprouts. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry with a clean towel.
- 2
Shave the Brussels Sprouts
Using a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer, thinly slice the Brussels sprouts into shavings. Aim for about 1/8-inch thickness for even cooking.
- 3
Heat the Olive Oil
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking.
- 4
Sear the Brussels Sprouts
Add the shaved Brussels sprouts to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and slightly caramelized.
- 5
Add Parmesan Cheese
Once the Brussels sprouts are cooked through, remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
- 6
Drizzle with Balsamic Vinegar
Finally, drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the sautéed Brussels sprouts and toss to coat evenly.
- 7
Serve
Transfer the shaved Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and enjoy warm as a delicious side dish.
