Cauliflower Steak
Method
Preparation of Cauliflower Steak
- 1
Prepare the Cauliflower
Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower head. Place it upside down on a cutting board and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks. You should be able to get about 2-3 good steaks from each head.
- 2
Season the Cauliflower Steaks
In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Brush both sides of each cauliflower steak with the olive oil mixture.
- 3
Pan Sear the Steaks
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the cauliflower steaks. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and tender. Remove from heat.
- 4
Add Parmesan
While the cauliflower steaks are still warm, sprinkle grated Parmesan Reggiano generously on top of each steak. Allow the cheese to melt slightly before serving.
