Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter until completely liquid. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Incorporate Wet Ingredients

Add the melted butter to the dry mixture, followed by the eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk everything together until smooth and fully incorporated.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  2. 6

    Cool the Cake

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Cake

Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar. Serve with fresh berries and whipped cream on the side for an indulgent treat.
