Chicken Tenders
Method
Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine chicken breast fillets with buttermilk. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In another bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Bread the Chicken
Remove chicken from the buttermilk and allow excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring it's well coated.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Once the oil is hot, carefully place the breaded chicken tenders in the oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with French fries.
