Sushi Roll Ingredients

Method

Sushi Roll Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Once cooked, let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ahi Tuna

Slice the fresh Ahi tuna into thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide.

  3. 3

    Make the Wasabi Aioli

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, wasabi paste, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well until smooth.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sushi Rolls

Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat. Wet your hands and spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving about 1 inch at the top. Lay the Ahi tuna strips horizontally in the middle of the rice and drizzle with kabayaki sauce. Sprinkle tobiko and sesame seeds over the tuna.

  5. 5

    Roll the Sushi

Using the mat, carefully roll the sushi away from you, pressing gently to form a tight roll. Seal the edge of the nori with a little water.

  6. 6

    Slice and Serve

Use a sharp knife to slice the sushi roll into 8 pieces. Serve with wasabi aioli on the side.
