Preparation

    Prepare Cucumber Namasu

    Slice cucumber thinly and combine with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Mix well and let sit for at least 30 minutes.

    Make Nori Puree

    Soak nori sheets in water for about 10 minutes. Blend until smooth and set aside.

Cooking Ahi

    Blacken Ahi

    Rub the Ahi tuna steaks with olive oil and coat generously with blackening spice mix. Heat a skillet over high heat. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side until blackened and cooked to desired doneness.

Sauce Preparation

    Prepare Butter Sauce

    In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and Sriracha sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Plating

    Serve

    On each plate, drizzle some nori puree, place the blackened Ahi steaks, and spoon the spicy soy mustard butter sauce over the top. Add a side of cucumber namasu.
